Mao Heguang, a geophysicist, was born in Shanghai, China in 1941. He was selected as a academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States in 1993 and a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996
In 1965,Prof. Zou graduated from Jilin University as a graduate student in solid state physics and was elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001. He is now a professor of State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, Jilin University. He has been engaged in static high pressure physics and superhard materials for a long time
