Venue:333 Lecture Hall, Physics Building

Abstract:

When considering lightest four quarks (u, d, s and c), the quark model predicts baryons with C = 2 from SU(4) multiples, such as Xicc++(ccu), Xicc+(ccd) and Omegacc+(ccs), which are referred to doubly charmed baryons. Recently, the LHCb experiment announced the observation of the doubly charmed baryon Xicc++ using the proton-proton collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 2016. Which was confirmed in an additional sample collected at 8 TeV in 2012.

The report will discuss the observation of Xicc++ and introduce the following measurement of doubly charmed baryon at LHCb.

Brief Bio:

Dr. Qingnian Xu got his PhD from University of Chinese Academy of Science in 2016, working on BESIII, Belle experiment and MOMENT experiment. Then he became the Postdoc there working on LHCb experiment. He has the experience on offline software development, data analysis and hardware test on particle physics experiments.
