Title:The software framework of Belle II experiment

Speaker :Doctor Hu Yu The Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Time:September 7, 2019 (Thursday), 10:00AM

Venue: 333 Lecture Hall, Physics Building

Abstract:Following the great success of the B-Factories, namely Babar and Belle experiment, the updated version, SuperKEKB accelerator with Belle II experiment, has been designed to further refine the precision of the Standard Model (SM) measurements and to explore the physics beyond SM in flavour sector. The upgraded e+e- collider will operate at an unprecedented instantaneous luminosity, and the physics runs with the complete detector has already started at 26 April 2018. This present will briefly introduce the Belle II experiment, especially the software framework being developed for physics analyses using the data collected by the Belle II experiment.

Brief Bio:Dr. Yu Hu got his PhD in Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Science in 2017, working on BESIII experiment. Then he moved to DESY as a postdoc working on BelleII experiment, and he now serves as the co-convenor of Belle II simulation group. Dr. Hu got a lot of experience working on physics analysis and offline software development on high energy physics experiments.
