Abstract:In AdS5 x S5, giant gravitons are spherical D-branes wrapped on S3. They have holographically dual in N=4 SYM through Schur polynomial operators.Since those scale as order N, planar Feynman diagrams are not enough in computing physical observables even in large N limit. Namely, as the giant graviton is a nonplanar object. it makes the problem difficult. In my recent works, I have studied spectra and correlators of giant gravitons with several methods. First, integrable subsectors of LLM geometry which is a spacetime obtained by gravity backreaction of giant gravitons were founded. Second, correlation functions of giants and a closed string were studied through effective field theory method. Third, excited giant gravitons were studied by group theory. Here, central extension and a resulting lattice model are studied.

I will introduce those in my talk and will concentrate on physical pictures rather than technical computations.
