At 1 o’clock on Jun. 4 Beijing Time (7 o’clock on the afternoon of Jun. 3 Central European Time), the administrative board of RD50 InternationalCollaboration, European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) deliberated and approved the Application of Jilin University for joining RD50 International Collaborationsubmitted by Prof. Weimin Song from the College of Physics, Jilin University. Thus Jilin University becomes one of the official member of this international collaboration. In the future, the working group of Jilin University will cooperate closely with international peers in R&D of irradiation damage mechanism ofsemiconductor detector, data-acquisition system and testing platform. Thanks to the R&Dstudyforradiation hardnesssemiconductor detector already laid by the high-energy physics researchgroupof our College and their outstanding capacity of research, and due to the strong support and abundant resources from physics, material, chemistry and relevant disciplines in verifying and optimizing the materials of semiconductor detector, the application was approved rapidly.
RD50 International Cooperation Group is a large academic community focusing on R&D ofradiation hardnesssemiconductor detector initiated by CERN. More than 60world famousinstitutes of Europe, Asia and America join the community, including University of Oxford, University of Göttingen, Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich, Moscow State University, Fermilab, Brookhaven National Laboratory Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and so on. All the members share relevant information and resources. Apart from Jilin University, Institute of High Energy Physics CAS and University of Science and Technology of China are also the members of the community.
